A New Single Release from Stone Blind State

A single release from Stone Blind State delivers an amazing energy in the form of what I would consider to be a sort of 90s radio rock style track, complete with a welcoming overtone, bringing out a certain kind of warmth in rock, while still keeping to a bit of a raw undertone, giving layers of guitars come melodies, and certain hints of Southern underbelly.

"There She Goes" feels good to listen to. They capture this great sort of live energy, and that is very infectious and evident right from the beginning.

The track starts off giving you this amazing guitar hook. It's simplistic, but very melodic and sticks in your head. This is something that I found really addictive about the track, and I loved it because I grew up listening to a lot of rock music, especially in the '90s, and before, you'd always have guitar hooks in the good songs.

Sometimes those guitar hooks were kind of like this one, where it was a little simpler but more melodically based so that it followed the progression of the rhythm guitars but gave you a perfect overlapping texture.

For some reason, there are a lot of rock songs now that are missing that aspect. I feel like a good guitar hook is essential in real rock music of almost any kind. I'm glad to hear they're bringing it back and doing so with such a warm tonality.

The vocalist is amazing at drawing your attention. He's got a voice that's a little deep and pretty boisterous but still somewhat calm. It's strangely soothing and just borders on feeling slightly raspy when he wants it to be. It's a great balance and he's constantly walking that line, but it feels completely natural.

He's also a great storyteller. The story is something you follow along with right from the first lyric, and I love that you can have a song that portrays lush Story the way this one does again.

Again, there is a little bit of a southern undertone to a lot of this. It's not really Americana, but more southern rock with that '90s alt-rock influence at play. The track definitely brings together several influences, and I think it's part of why it's got an atmosphere that surrounds you.

It feels welcoming and somewhat familiar in a sense. For example, I grew up listening to bands like Pearl Jam. This song and a lot of the attributes about it, tonally and songwriting-wise, make me think of bands like that.

So, when I heard this track, it was a little bit nostalgic, to be honest.

The drummer is outstanding and is filling the room with ghost notes the entire time, which I definitely got drawn into, and everything about the song has an amazing dynamic balance to it.

Start hearing backing vocals coming in and filling the space, giving the song an even fuller soundscape, and the whole thing has heart. It's almost like it combines a sort of homeland, southern rock with a 90s alternative rock, and that is something I got caught up in.

Getting back to those guitars, I noticed that the guitarist is performing a sort of single note, lead lick following vocal melodies and chord progressions throughout a lot of the song. This is brilliant because it adds a bit more to the song itself. It makes everything more robust and memorable. The melodies are right in your face, and because he's doing the lead version of those melodies on top of chords and vocals, they really dig in.

There's also some great bending notes on those guitars, giving that southern-kissed rock undertone a bit more of a push here and there. Those are peppered in and usually happen right after the choruses or during them.

This was a great track. It really gave a spirited, honest, and somewhat inviting aesthetic.

This was a tastefully performed track that just gave a lot of heart and bread a great combination of rock influences that made it memorable.

Check this track out now so you can see exactly what I'm talking about.
