A Fresh Pop Single from Syndey Gordon

The latest single from Sydney Gordon hits a thriving pop overtone that blends elements of classic club aesthetics with a vast underbelly and this incredibly alluring set of vocals that showcase a certain side of the artist, giving the song such a great character to hold on to.

"Good On Me" is sort of driving and has some amazing synth work that takes a very fresh and current pop feel and blends it with a certain old school or classic style dance pop, in a sense. This, of course, comes mostly from the synths and keys that are used along with the arrangement.

What makes this song so driving to start with is the beat. The beat of this track is very heavy-handed. It's edgy, big, sonically thick, and helps push the song in terms of its energy.

What's cool about this is that it feels like it's a live precaution. There's a lot of cool hi-hat stuff going on, and it definitely livens up the song in terms of putting you in the moment.

You also have some vastness that goes on throughout this track. There's an ambience feel to the soundscape of the track as a whole, and this also adds to the sort of enticing character that it gives off because it helps the attitude.

There is also some great guitar work going on, adding to that certain edginess that it portrays, giving it a hint of alternative, but not really going all the way there.

This is a bit of a cleaner song in terms of its pop overcoat, but there is that sort of grit in its undertone, and I think that helps the track because it adds to some of the sexiness.

What's cool about all of this is that it has these elements or aesthetics come at times, that make you think of songs that were prominent in the early 2010s all over the radio.

The beat is not super fast. It's a sort of mid to slower tempo track, the percussion is widened so the kick and snare hits are spread apart, giving it that heavier feel, and the vocals add so much of that character to the song that you just can't really turn away from it.

The single is about being with someone that you're into and feeling like they look good on you. She's expressing this person almost like an accessory, but there are some layers and depth to that, too. It's not just about being an accessory, but she likes this person. That person feels good as much as they look good, and that's what really creates the sentiment of the track.

She busts in with some soul throughout this track vocally. She's got a robust singing voice, and at times, it even sounds almost like it has a southern twang to it.

I love how she brings that into the mix because it makes you think of an Americana song with this heavy pop tonality.

She doesn't do it all the time, but when she really is in the moment and wants to throw swagger into it, she certainly doesn't hold back.

Again come the guitar work is a little different throughout this whole track, but there are some great sections guitar-wise that are melodic but have a great tone to them, and the way she adds in these different layers of vocals in the background here and there really adds even more of those wonderful layers, giving the song a lush body.

This is a feel-good track. It's awesome to dance to, it's great to listen to loud, but it also has those bits of Personality that sort of showcase a certain side of the artist, which is not something you get all the time.

There is a great combination of color and edginess throughout this entire thing, and that blend of elements really makes it work insanely well.

It also has a sort of natural flow to it that's very easy to get into.

Sydney is outstanding at not only writing this kind of material but also performing it. She's got such a great dynamic in how she performs, so that at certain points, it can be more intense when she wants it to.

That is the fun in all of this. Being able to create an easily memorable track with a big, thick chorus, but also showcases a bit of personality, and still manages to hit with that bit of edginess that drives it along perfectly.

I would definitely dive into this room when you can because it's a total banger and speaks volumes for Sydney Gordon as a heavy hitter in the pop field.

This is an artist who's paving her own path and that world, and she's doing an amazing job.

If you're not familiar with her stuff, then this is a perfect song to begin with.

Check it out so you can see exactly what I mean.
