The Ultra Fun Pop Rock Of The Cancellations
A spanking new record from The Cancellations is here and it feels damn good with a bright pop rock sheen and tons of great vibes that bring in some classic chorus approaches and a lush, full sound that helps these songs become insanely danceable.
The Pity Parade album takes some classic rock styles from the 90's, early 2000's, and a current feel that really all escape into a full bodied pop arena with all kinds of fun quirks, vocal effects, and hooks, hooks, hooks.
These guys pull all the stops with both musical and vocal licks that hit hard between floaty verses and it's really quite awesome especially because it almost feels like the players are all feeding off of each other's energies.
It makes you really want to see the band live as they seem like they'd put on a colorful show.
On record those colors shine as well with layers of sounds that float around the atmosphere of the songs and notes that are riddled everywhere that come together with a killer swagger.
Some tracks delve into a garage rock undertone and style but it all keeps to their fun and stylish soundscape and energy.
The record really has something for everyone to be honest. All ages should really dig songs from this record.
They have plenty of surprises and choruses that stick in your brain for days on end. Some of these are accompanied by bendy guitar work and cool harmonies that flow back into the chorus without a hitch.
Everything is super seamless with these guys and it's tasteful and makes you want to get up and dance around the living room half the time. Okay...maybe more than half the time.
This is literally an album of singles. They all have such catchiness and some even have catchier verses that choruses.
One thing is for certain. The Cancellations have a pure love for their craft and you can hear it with every passing second.
This record is for anyone that loves party rock music with a little extra.
If you wanna sing along, dance along, or jump around. The Pity Parade record is for you.
