The Casbahs Return With An Addictive Rock Single

The Casbahs return with a new single that breeds a wonderful cross of classic rock and that southern kissed tonality complete with amazing guitar work that bends, swells, and sways, along with a mildly theatrical undertone, and this amazing ability to nail the classic rock aesthetic to the point where it feels like something that was legitimately released in the late '70s or early '80s.

Now, having said that, they do also breed a little bit of a 90s rock vibe as well. This is very guitar-driven, and it's the guitar work that really puts this through the roof.

One of the things that I love most about this track is that it actually has guitar hooks. This is something that has been slowly missing more and more from rock songs in recent years, and I can't understand why.

A great rock song always has instrumental hooks. Not just a chorus, but a musical guitar hook. These guys brought that back with a vengeance, and it's amazing to hear it.

The vocals on this single are robust but very melodic, giving the track a little bit more depth. You end up finding yourself getting pulled into the lyrics as well.

What's probably most enticing is the sheer fact that this whole thing feels alive with this particular energy. The song has a unique way of putting you in the moment, and to me, it feels almost like they recorded this live on the floor, so all the players were feeding off of each other's energies the entire time.

Now, I wasn't there, of course. I'm not sure how exactly they recorded it, but when you listen to this song on the record, it immediately makes you want to go see them live because if they can capture this kind of aesthetic and energy, even better.

The song is called "Electric Daydreams", and it really doesn't waste much time digging in with this addictive rhythm. The whole thing makes me think of the stuff that I grew up listening to, from Tom Petty to the Toadies.

We're talking about stuff from both the 70s and the 80s, and also big radio hits from the 90s. The thing is, they utilize this aesthetic to create something that's all their own.

Either way, they're amazing at bringing that atmosphere back to life. The layers of guitar tones are really what add the thickness and the depth to the track.

When the track breaks into its chorus, the chords feel more open and vast. The song itself does have a bit of spaciousness in its undertone, and that has a lot to do with the tones of their instruments.

You can clearly tell these guys paid a lot of attention to how they wanted the guitars to sound, how they're one of the drums to feel, and everything else.

You can hear hints of reverb effect on some of the guitars and even on the vocals, helping build the sense of vastness, and also helps breed a semi-cinematic feel at the same time.

I love how the vocalist has this really particular swagger to him. Both the guitars and the vocals have a unique way of performing these bends, and that gives the song an awesome attitude-riddled swagger in a sense.

You can also tell they derive their arrangement and songwriting from classics as well. The arrangement of the song is perfect, and it even has a great guitar solo right before the last set of big choruses, where the song feels the most full-bodied and lush.

It's the kind of song that feels good to listen to. Someone my age, who grew up listening to all different kinds of rock music from all the decades I mentioned earlier, it was refreshing to hear a song like this because of how well they pulled their influences together to create something so authentic.

This is absolutely killer. Loads of hooks, both vocally and instrumentally, a great groove, perfect swagger, and this awesome kind of excited energy that comes through even though the song has a certain smoothness to it.

It is a smooth track. It's just cool. They're not thrashing out. They're doing things tastefully, and there's a certain elegance to the way they perform.

This was something that's going to stay with me. This is simply because I love real rock music, and these guys are about as genuine as it gets.

One of the most astounding things about this is the sheer fact that this is the first single after the band's three-year break from making music.

While I listen to this track, I get the feeling we may have missed out on a few years of some awesome songwriting, but maybe not. Maybe that's what they needed to come back and do something like this.

no matter the reason for the break, I'm certainly glad they're back in action, and I cannot wait to hear what comes next from them.

This is for anyone who really loves classic rock, '90s Rock, anything with a little classic swagger, semi-vintage tonality, and a little edginess.

It's got color and personality all over it.

Take a deep dive into this one and see what it does for you.
