The Deathray Davies Melodic Pop Rock Stylings

The Deathray Davies just hit us with a new single called "Oh Stars" and it's a driving indie-rock track with a heavily melodic overtone and gives off tastes of bands like The Strokes, Death Cab For Cutie, and even old school Nada Surf.
The song has a cinematic backbone and is sonically bright while the mellow aesthetic keeps things tasteful and allows all the right elements of pop to come through.
The radio rock single is catchy, and fun while guitars strum and vocals lay out melodic hooks that embed themselves in your head.
You may find yourself humming the tune to yourself later in your day without realizing it.
"Oh Stars" does indeed feel like you're camping and looking out into the night sky. Comfortable and pleasant, vibrant and with a certain innocence.
The single is part of the bands upcoming Time Well Wasted EP to be released February 12th everywhere which we can only hope has more of these kinds of songs on it.
Either way it's easy to love this song and are excited to see what's in store for us with the album itself.
One thing is for sure, The Deathray Davies know how to write a good pop song and keep their edge.
"Oh Stars" is a great way to introduce yourself to the band and before you know it, the Lp will be here to dig into.
