An Introduction to The Inside Out

If you haven't really heard of The Inside Out then you just might not be a big fan of alternative rock or emo-rock. And if that's the case then that makes total sense however, if you are definitely an alt-rock lover and don't know this band then it's seriously time you do.
Why you might ask? Well the answer is pretty easy. These guys are the epitome of a certain generation of alternative rock songwriting and they're able to grab hold of that sound and take the reins for where everyone else left off.
Sure there's elements of alternative rock in a lot of different kinds of music, but it's not always utilized right and it's not always framed right.
When it comes down to releasing a good rock song there's a lot of elements that have to be in play and in order for the song to really work the performance is one of the most important aspects of the whole thing.
Now what I'm saying may seem obvious to you but if you really think about it there are a lot of songs out there in all different kinds of genres mind you, that would have really really worked if the performance was done right.
The Inside Out does a solid job of recording songs that feel like the performance is live. Capturing lightning in a bottle isn't an easy thing when it comes to songwriting especially, and not every song on their new album release No Brains, No Blood, is either.
But there are some singles on this release that are a perfect example of capturing a certain kind of lightning in a bottle, for a certain genre of music, for a certain generation of people.
Let's take the title track for example. You have some great refs and you have some Hooks and catchy sections that are done still with a dark edged sword so it's got its fire but it still sticks in your brain.
That melody, that hook doesn't go anywhere. But that doesn't mean it's all happy go lucky, cuz it's not it's just catchy, it just works.
So getting back to the topic of the performance; being able to pull off a song that's harder and more alternative with heavy distortion and unique vocals and being able to make something like that catchy without losing that heaviness, is something only certain bands can pull off and it's only something that bands can pull off when they have every player doing their part a certain way.
So maybe there's a leader that directs everyone? You never know some bands are dictatorships, some bands are not. These guys don't feel like a dictatorship but again, who really knows.
The main point is that this record is robust with powerful and well written alternative rock singles that a lot of people will easily get attached to.
Other singles that also have a way of ruling the school if you will, but this is definitely one album that you can go from top to bottom straight through and it's still great.
