The Raging Nathans Drop "The Grudge" as They Ramp Up For an LP Release

A brand new release from The Raging Nathans delivers an endlessly energetic and vivacious blend of alternative rock, pop punk, and a trashy undertone that together, breed an atmosphere and drive you can't turn away from.
The Room For One More LP wastes very little time as it starts off with its first track, "The Grudge" which hits with a rhythm crunch but an overlaying guitar part that serves as a sort of hook, and this is part of the format of how they write songs and what you can expect more of throughout this record.
You automatically start getting a grasp of their vocal harmonies, their sonic presence as a band, and how these songs feel like you're right there in the room with them watching them being performed.
This is something I have to touch on. These guys have such an amazing energy to them on this record that it feels like a lot of this was recorded live on the floor, with some overdubs later on.
It feels like everyone involved was feeding off of each other's energy throughout this entire record and gives the album a huge push.
Of course, I wasn't there so I'm not sure how it was actually recorded but, listening to this record makes you want to go see them perform it alive in your face because if this kind of energy and aesthetic is captured so well on record, then seeing it live must be awesome.
I love hearing a band and immediately knowing they're going to be awesome to check out in a live setting.
"The Grudge" is a perfect intro track to the record also because it gives you some of what you can expect as the record unfolds, however, this is the type of LP you want to listen to all the way through because they're surprises around the corners.
"The Grudge" is a single that dropped just today as the band and label, Rad Girlfriend Records, ramp up to release the LP this coming May16th.
These guys touch on some super classic punk rock as well. Songs like "Out of Control" deliver those vintage punk approaches with fat bass guitar tones with a perfect level of twang but a massive low end.
You also get sort of grungier more classic punk-style vocals on songs like this. They've got a Swagger and attitude attached to them that give them character.
That's another thing; this whole album has loads of character and personality strewn across it.
This is yet another reason to listen to the full album as opposed to just one or two tracks. Listening to a few songs may give you an idea of what to expect but it will not give you the full range or spectrum of what the album offers as a whole.
The classic punk rock style tracks range. Some people think of that aesthetic as '80s punk rock while others look at it as '90s or even 2000s punk rock.
These guys actually sort of encompass all of that and songs like "Nick At Nite", which is one of my favorites on the record by the way, give you that more late 90s early 2000s punk rock feel with great guitar work, bending notes, and a thrashy feel but super tight.
There are all kinds of great change-ups, approaches, and punk styles across this record but again, it also gives you some alternative, and heavier undertones that some wouldn't consider just punk.
In terms of the punk rock of it all, they cover all the ground. The street, skate, thrash, pop, all the punk styles.
This is totally impressive to me because you don't expect one band to cover that much ground but these guys really do it with no problem.
There is just a lot of drive on this record. The drumming is outstanding. Super in the pocket, intricate, and precise but also alive which gives these songs the added drive to push the envelope right to where it needs to be.
You have anthemic choruses, high-octane songwriting, and performances, and everything from the vocals to the guitars, drums, and bass guitar all feed into each other and give you this atmosphere that's completely thriving from beginning to end.
This was one hell of a punk rock record and I suggest once again, listening to this from beginning to end. It's 12 songs in total but you have the time.
Remember, the full album drops May 16th.
For now, you can dig into "The Grudge" to get a feel for what's to come.
Again, this was just released so dive into it and turn it up loud because that's the way it was meant to be heard.
Any fan of real punk will love this record and everything it offers.
Remember where you heard it first.
