An Interview With The Sound of Ghosts
We had a chance to sit down with The Sound of Ghosts to talk about career milestones and inspirations for working inthe music industry. Here's what we found out.
TSWS: Hello, Sounds of Ghosts! Great to have you here!
TSWS: What inspires you to work in this industry?
TSOG: We're inspired by the creative process. We love telling stories and expressing ourselves through our songs.
TSWS: What would be your dream collaboration?
TSOG: We would love to collaborate with Nathaniel Rateliff, The Avett Brothers, Jamestown Revival, Shakey Graves, and Amigo the Devil.
TSWS: How often do you write songs?
TSOG: We ebb and flow. Sometimes we'll write 5 songs in a week and then other times we're working on prepping for shows or playing shows and so the ideas don't come as readily. Writing has always been about creating the time and space for ideas to come forward for us. It's easy to forget a little idea for a song when you're busy or stressed.
TSWS: What milestone are you working towards in your career this year?
TSOG: We're really hoping to record a new record this year and get back out to play some shows! We have been cooped up for too long, so we're ready to hit the ground running this year.
TSWS: If you could pass on one message to your fans, what message would that be?
TSOG: This band has always been about the love of music and we hope that our fans feel that love and excitement every time they listen to our songs and every time they see us play. There is pure joy and passion in those songs, even the dark ones, and we hope that comes across.
TSWS: What makes you feel alive?
TSOG: Playing in front of a crowd. Being outside. Breathing fresh air. Putting our toes in the ocean. Seeing new places and meeting new people. Creating something we're proud of. Eating a delicious meal. Listening to a great record. Watching the sunset.
TSWS: What is your favorite kind of cereal?
Jon: Frosted Flakes
Joey: I'm more of a Pop Tart guy
James: Coco Puffs
Anna: granola... homemade if I can get it.
