The Vintage Pop Sounds Of Tornsey
Tornsey just dropped a retro-pop banger on us, and it feels incredibly good. So good in fact, that you'll be shaking your but tin you seat without even knowing it.
The new single, "I Feel Fine" screams of so many classics with disco inspired guitars, keys and even percussion that all beckon 80's alt-pop with swirling synths and vocals that come through refreshing and crisp.
This track oozes heart and showcases a young artists love for her craft. You can hear that with every single note on this track. Seriously, this is insanely danceable, fun, and let's Tornsey really shine.
The release is bursting with character and presence, and you can picture her dancing around your living room while it blasts out loud.
Guitars pluck and drive, the drums roll on and give the song an added energy and the whole thing is colorful and bright from start to finish.
This really blew me away. Especially the attention to detail and perfectionism on this one but also how it still has all that soul throughout all of it.
It's an arms up, clap your hands in the air, summer time party song and there are so many tasteful elements of this that have an authentically 80's and 70's feel to it.
It's quite nice to see younger artists with such an array of classic influences and spinning them into something fresh and new like this.
It's inspiring and in a way makes me happy.
There is music that lasts forever for some people. Just like fashion, music also runs in cycles and the sound that was cool 30 years ago, becomes cool again but now it's been brought into a new time with new tools and new approaches that let the artist really let loose and find a sound that fits what they are looking for.
Tornsey is exactly what we need right now in music. It's pop and vintage but its here and now.
"I Feel Fine" is a summer kick off song for me and I think it will be for others.
Some come get your Saturday night fever on with Tornsey.
