Wasting May Delivers A Beautiful Single
A beautiful new single from Wasting May delivers a personal and one-on-one tonality that feels like a dream creeping in as you fall asleep and can wrap itself around you and keep you right where it wants to with a flowing and warming presence.
"In The Pines" bears a lot of honesty and a lot of detail lyrically which is what you eventually become so attached to because it's able to almost paint a vivid picture in your head as you listen to it deeper and deeper.
The song has a way of swaying and swelling giving it the feeling of being alive and breathing at times and it sort of grows in intensity while this happens as well.
This does have a smooth and dream-esque feeling to it and when you listen to it you feel like you're floating a few feet above the ground.
One of my favorite aspects about this track is the way that it pulls you in and just when you get to feel the vibe of the song in your bones and your blood, they break into this other kind of bridge section that comes through so lush with vocal harmonies and almost rustic undertone.
I like a song that's got some layers to be peeled back and this definitely is one of those tracks and it also has surprises around the corner which is refreshing but I like the personality in the character that comes through in the song itself because I feel like that's the allure.
The song has little hints of edginess lurking in its underbelly and that gives it an almost dark vibe but I think that just has to do with the honesty of the song and how it's so emotionally driven.
I feel like this may have been cathartic to release because it is something that the listener can relate to and feel from which is really important because I think that one of the most impactful aspects to good music is that it can make you think or feel.
This is a perfect example of that kind of music and Wasting May pulls this off not only without a hitch but with a certain charm as well.
This is all very beautifully done and gracefully performed with a memorable delivery and a song that feels cinematic and has a way of sticking around in your head for hours or even days after the song has ended.
The track is a beautiful portrayal of an honest situation brought on by real emotion which makes everything very authentic but it also showcases a balance of light and dark throughout its course.
This to me is very understandable as a lot of emotion is confusing and can take over your thought process quite often.
The whole release has this essence of a soft and subtle touch almost like the whole thing is delicate and this is part of what makes it feel like a living thing.
A wonderfully woven single from a duo that is really paving their own path and writing music with fewer boundaries than their predecessors.
Check this out when you can and I would suggest doing so with a pair of headphones as it's one of the best ways to soak this in.
No interruptions.
