An Interview With Water Tower

979-watertower.jpg

We just got to have a talk with Water Tower about thier music and much more!

TSWS: We are SO excited to be chatting with YOU! What has been taking up your days as of lately when it comes to your music?

WT: We are even MORE excited to be chatting with you lol!  When it comes to making music, which is the building block of every moment in my life, I have been consumed by playing music for people on the road and online.  Now more than ever I long for musical connection, and now more than EVER it is available to the artist from their own home. Going live on social media has been a tribe-building experience over the last year. The quarantine has forced my crew and I to explore new ways of connecting musically, and for this I am so grateful.

TSWS: What is the best compliment you’ve ever received about your music?

WT: One time in a college class of 150 people, I had an older student come up to me after class and say that I had a "back door entrance to commune with God.” I honestly do not know what this person meant when they said this, but I have never forgotten it and I take it as a compliment.  I am not sure that he had heard me play music, but he said he could tell by the questions that I asked in class.

TSWS: What surprises you most about yourself as an artist?

WT: I am surprised by the strange paradox that whenever I become attached to a certain outcome and lose focus on the process, I lose my "flow" or “mojo". The "flow" comes back AS SOON as I stop looking at the goal and start to focus on the moment (the process) again. It surprises me every time I forget to live in the moment. And I work SO hard to breathe deep and live in THIS moment.

TSWS: What is the most adventurous thing you’ve done while performing?

WT: One time for a CD release party the band and I decided to go full Red Hot Chili Peppers.  We stripped down and wore ONLY socks. Not on our feet though. The banjo player at the time had a girlfriend who was not happy because there were some ladies in the front row who kept grabbing the sock! Pictures exist on my personal facebook somewhere DEEP.

TSWS: Where can our audience find you and support all your current and new projects!!

WT: A great way to connect with us is our FB, IG, YouTube and TikTok!
