WRY Delivers A Fresh EP
A recent release from WRY brings out a sultry and slightly edgy pop approach that incorporates plenty of R&B, soul, and a very colorful and unique production approach that makes these songs come through with excellent energy.
The Sweet n Salty EP is riddled with honesty and that honesty is approached in her own specific Style but it still comes through strong as does her personality on a lot of these songs.
WRY is digging in on these tracks and she certainly isn't afraid to speak her mind and let those inner thoughts out throughout this record.
This is part of what makes it so addictive. She puts things into perspective and lets a lot off of her chest and I think that's part of what makes her such a great artist.
She really doesn't put a lot of walls up around the music that she makes and she utilizes that music as a way to speak out which I think is incredibly important for an artist like this.
The reason is because that's part of what makes her so relatable and so lovable. Everything feels authentic.
Now, along with all that, she does indeed bring a swagger with her approach and the vocals come through so bountiful and soulful that a lot of these hooks just kind of stay with you for a while.
I also really love this combination of old and new school approaches because some of these songs give me the vibe of a sort of 90s R&B approach while other ones are much more futuristic and current.
I love that combo because it leaves a little bit of an element of surprise which you get plenty of throughout these five songs.
My favorite track out of this whole EP is the title track which is actually the last track on the record and it's a short one too however, it really showcases her vocals a certain way because she feels so up close and personal and the production and beats percussion and the way everything was recorded is incredible.
This track brings out a sort of ethereal undertone which I really dig.
This was an outstanding release that gave me a lot more than I expected and there are a lot of layers that can be peeled back.
It's a little bit more of an experience than just an EP and each track serves like a chapter in her life.
She certainly portrays quite a unique character throughout these songs and if you're someone who loves a genuine sort of edgy pop and R&B soundscape then this is 100% for you because WRY is doing it right and she's doing it her own way.
This whole record has a unique spin on it so when you hear it in a way, you know that it's her and that to me is the staple of a great artist.
Check this EP out when you get a chance and try and listen to the whole thing so you can grab onto everything it has to offer you.
Some incredible songs here.
