A Massive Release from Council Ring
An album release from Council Ring delivers a vast array of guitar-driven soundscapes that are delivered with tasteful riffs, hooks, and tones that all create a vast rock atmosphere that is incredibly easy to fall right into.
The Confluence album is absolutely massive and has some really killer sonic drive and it's under Tom because it borders all of these different subgenres of rock from classic rock, to progressive, indie, alternative, and even grunge all rolled into one fat record that hits more than enough sweet spots for you to get addicted.
There is a great vastness to this record that makes it just feel insanely expensive and the songs that are softer swim around in the air surrounding you with cleaner guitars and tones, flowing feels, and other tracks that hit harder, those are the ones that bring the edginess and the drive.
You can definitely hear that classic rock influence in there but there are also some bluesy undertones and some mathy jams as well that bring a lot of color to the record.
As I said before, there's quite an array of rock stylings that are incorporated and all those influences come to the table throughout different tracks but somehow it all fits together so well in fact, that it actually feels quite a bit like a concept record.
Even if I'm wrong about the concept record thing, these songs have connective feels within each other and to each other so listening to this full album is a must.
If you check out one or two songs you might get a little bit of a gist of what it's all about but you won't get the full spectrum of what the album has to offer.
One of the things I adore most about this release is its energy level because it's got this intense and almost live and electric energy to it.
Some of the songs make me think that this whole thing was recorded live on the floor to an extent and everyone involved was just feeding off of each other's energies the entire time letting the album have this completely alive and breathing tonality.
This is something I find unique and it gives the record such a great level of intensity, sways and swells, and all of these fun aspects that let it all take you for a ride.
This is a great escape and anyone who loves genuinely authentic and guitar-driven rock music that has some depth to it, will absolutely love it.
The record hits hard where it wants to, it comes through subtly in other parts, but it all fits together like a puzzle and maybe that's why it's called Confluence.
This album certainly speaks volumes for the band and how you can tell this is a group of people that have a real love for their craft and when I say that, I don't just mean playing their instruments, I mean writing songs together to create something new. To create atmospheres that you get soaked up in.
This is obviously purely a passion project but for people that really dig expansive and experimental music that showcases amazing presence and energy, the record will check all the boxes
This was fun, charismatic, vivacious, and riddled with dripping guitar work, keys and organs, and smashing drums.
There's a lot going on throughout this record and it felt really good to listen to it all.
I feel like people that are actually in bands will love this album too.
It was a massive musical journey and when it's over you have to react to meet yourself back to reality again.
Definitely take a deep dive into this one and don't be afraid to turn it up.
Again, I strongly suggest you set aside about an hour to listen to the full album so you can really soak everything in for what it's worth.
