Daniel and the Sparrows hits the ground running with a full-bodied and beautifully woven EP that comes through with heart and soul in the form of a lush pop-rock style and a bright backbone.
The Streetlights EP consists of 3 massive tracks that each have something a little different to bring to the table and they all feel good. They genuinely have something about them that feels warming and comforting. They make memories and thoughts pop up in your head when you least expect it and they come across almost like a soundtrack to chapters in your life.
The songs really showcase some intense and perfected songwriting that all have a radio worthy air to them with passionate vocals and performances by all parts that really fit like puzzle pieces.
It's all gorgeous really, and it takes on such a graceful approach that it ends up being something you can feel in your bones at times.
The Ep stands tall amongst a sea of releases and part of this is due to the polished and refreshing sheen the songs boast.
They are touching and intense in a subtle way. They feature strings that build orchestrated sections and work towards getting you to feel what's happening in the song and guess what...it works like a charm.
The EP is painted with a wonderful palette and keeps boundaries at bay with seamless changes, and layered textures that become vivid to your ears and in your mind.
When it's over you feel like the EP was made up of songs that came from real experiences and it all opens and closes like a film.
This was a completely wonderful and impactful EP and from performances to production, was totally impressive.
