D'Lee Returns With A Spirited New Single

D'Lee returns with a fresh new single that gives off such a welcoming and spirited approach and manages to blend this Americana and rock tonality so that you have something robust and addictive, while having a great sentiment behind it.
"Evel Knievel" feels great to listen to. The song reaches into the rock soundscape easily with a blending of acoustic guitars and heavier ones that both go together like pieces of a puzzle, and it gives the track a bit of a drive, which is perfect because the song is about feeling alive.
To me, the song is simply about taking steps to feel good about what you're doing with yourself and your life.
Paying attention to the things that you are accomplishing, giving yourself some praise, and understanding that you are making progress. Even the small steps count.
That's what I got from this track. Evel Knievel was a very well-known stuntman who, in the 80s and some of the 90s, was recognized worldwide for doing crazy stuff like jumping his motorcycle across 20 buses. Stuff like that.
He was featured on television and written up in some Guinness World Record books. The whole comparison to Evel Knievel in this track, in particular, is that it takes guts to do something big in your life.
It takes bravery to recognize your achievements and to take steps that you know will feel amazing.
So she's basically saying, 'look out, I'm coming through and I'm doing big things that I'm not afraid of anymore.'
I find that so refreshing and spirited that it was totally infectious.
It's about taking chances. This sentiment is so connective for me and likely for a lot of people who will listen to this song.
People want to step out there and take a chance on whatever it may be because we only have one life to live.
That is pure Americana if I've ever heard it.
Again, this is a track that really rocks out and has an addictive course that feels anthemic because of the sentiment and its performance vocally.
D'Lee performs her vocals with some soul, and that is something that wraps itself around you and keeps you right where it wants to.
There's something so, sort of, homeland-rock about this track. It feels warm and welcoming. We can relate to what she's saying, and for some, it's even inspirational.
Either way, it certainly leaves a mark and impact, but feels great to listen to.
We are no strangers to D'Lee and her releases. I can tell you right now that this song is a massive track that speaks volumes for the artist, and it's also not a huge surprise, simply because she is an artist who puts pieces of herself into her songs.
There's always a high level of authenticity coming through, and you can just tell that her music is always coming from someplace real.
She's an artist who sings and writes about chapters of her own life, but doesn't in a way that feels like the song is just for you.
Quite a brilliant approach and all done in a way that really lets her presence as an artist shine through the entire time.
You will definitely have to listen to this one to see exactly what I mean but you certainly will once you do.
Everything about this track has been well thought out, from the tones of the guitars to the arrangement, and although you can tell there was plenty of attention to detail during the creation of songs like this, it never loses that personality or character it started with.
This is what you look for from genuine Americana and rock artists. Some personality. Some realness.
D'Lee gives plenty of those aspects.
At any rate, definitely check this track out and go back through some of her previous catalog on Spotify once you do, because there are a number of outstanding releases from singles to EPs that you can dive into.
I suggest checking out most of her stuff, especially if you dig this track.
I personally can't wait to hear what's next.
