A Massive Record From incident

An album release from incident delivers an incredibly raw and ferocious soundscape riddled with character, energy, and a closed-fisted aggression that comes through thriving and infectious throughout the entire record without letting up.
Tapeworm is an album that needs to be listened to from beginning to end to really soak in everything that it has to offer. Listening to one or two tracks from this record is great to get a feel for some of the hard-hitting, pulse-pounding, fiery approach that is given off throughout the record, but it will not give you everything.
There is something strangely and eerily connective about these songs, almost as if this were a concept album of sorts.
The tracks feed into elements of thrash metal, hardcore, punk, and plenty more heavy Rock genres all rolled into one, but what really grabs you is this intense energy that's given off throughout the record.
It feels almost like these tracks were recorded live on the floor to an extent, with all the players involved feeding off of each other's energies the entire time and giving the record this incredibly powerful and almost manic feel.
Of course, I wasn't there so I'm not sure how they recorded this, but listening to the record makes you want to go see them perform it live simply because, if they can capture this kind of energy and aesthetic on record so well, then seeing them live must be a real face-melter.
I would want exactly that from seeing a band like this in a live setting. I'd want to kind of be blown away, and the recording itself already does that, so it's rare that you can hear a band on record and immediately want to see them live, but this is one of those records.
The guitar tone is sharp, dirty, gritty, and grungy, the vocals are massively intense with again, that manic and almost vile undertone that gives the songs a haunting underbelly, and it's honestly addicting as hell.
There are tracks on the record that are absolutely filthy and make you think of scenes from a horror movie. Tracks like "Feed It" serve as a perfect example of exactly that.
These kinds of songs are meant more as a form of self-expression than anything else, but you can feel it in your bones when you hear them.
Meanwhile, songs like "Conviction" are blisteringly heavy and thrash out with a hardcore element you can't get away from. Songs like this one hit like a sucker punch to the gut.
There are more than a few surprises around the corners of this record, and by the time you get halfway through, you begin to expect the unexpected a little bit, but also can't wait to hear the energy level and intensity of the next track.
Soon after that, you are feeding into it, and you want more and more of that manic, scattered, dirty soundscape.
The whole record was completely pulse pounding and has a great way of crawling under your skin and staying with you after it's all been said and done.
There are hints of industrial, but most of the record sticks with a thrashing metal approach along with that classic East Coast hardcore and high-octane energy levels that you come to love quickly.
There are also tracks on this release that are like the glue between certain tracks and convince me more that this is a concept album.
There are messages being spoken and tracks like "Kill It", which is the closer of the record, deliver those well. These are also the tracks that give you the feeling you get when watching a great horror film.
There is a haunt behind this all, and if you listen to the record with headphones on, you can really soak all those layers in.
All the edge, textual aggressiveness, and power behind the sentiment of the record is delivered perfectly if you listen with headphones.
Again, that's just my opinion, and you should have your own when listening to this, nonetheless, you should be listening to this record.
The only thing I can compare it to in terms of textual greediness and thrash aggressiveness is The Great Southern Trend Kill by Pantera.
There's just this sharp tonality and powerhouse approach to the whole thing that reminds me of records like that.
At any rate, dig into this record as soon as you can and go the whole way through.
This will have an effect on you, and you should see what that effect is.
