Louie Letdown Drops "Serotonin"

An addictive and colorful new release from Louie Letdown recently dropped and the track brings to mind such a robust and classic underground hip-hop vibe with this semi-chill and laid-back style beat that has jazz-influenced undertones and double-tracked vocals that display the artist's lyrical phrasing with thickness.
"Serotonin" is the kind of track you listen to more than once just so you can soak everything in properly. He goes through a soiree of lines and again, that lyrical phrasing is what lets the song bounce.
His vocals and lyrics bounce in between those beats with such perfection and smoothness to the flow.
It's all quite addicting and brings artists like Atmosphere to mind, for example.
That's what I mean by coming in with that sort of 'classic underground hip-hop movement-style' soundscape which was produced by homemade spaceship.
That aesthetic is nailed here but it also has this crisp freshness that is very vibrant and that comes with both the beat and the performance together.
He definitely doesn't hold a lot back lyrically and is indeed "rawer than your sushi" which is something pretty refreshing.
The whole production has a natural kind of forward moving flow to it and this is a song that you kick back and pop on headphones on to really listen to the right way.
Not only because you're able to grab onto more of the lyrics that way, but also because of the music. The soundscape flows around you and has that water-like fluency that creates a silky smoothness best heard with headphones on.
There's something kind of nostalgic about this track. Again, it does have this classic hip-hop feel influenced by some of the vintage grates, but reaches into those underground realms of the genre.
Combining those two elements was smart. I think it just comes to Louie naturally.
The whole track is pretty much non-stop. It's just one straight flow all the way through and it's done with great precision but also style.
It's not overloaded with swagger but it's got personality. Louie has a natural personality when he's rapping and that color and character come through strongly on this track.
This was an endlessly fun banger with a particular sort of aesthetic and brightness to it that not only made me feel nostalgic but welcomed.
I can't help but love a song that makes me feel like I'm 17 Again with headphones on walking to high school.
Amazing work.
Now, this track is dropped by Grand Alliance Music, who we are very familiar with.
The label has done wonders in terms of pushing electronic and hip-hop artists to the forefront who most certainly deserve it.
This single is set to be part of the Grand Alliance Music Vol 2: MAIORA album, a compilation of the label's freshest artists and releases.
The album is set to have over 16+ artists and tracks, and although this is just one tiny taste of it all, it's a flavorful one, to say the least.
So stop licking your chops and have a listen.
