One of the latest releases from Name Sayers brings out a very personal approach and outstanding yet subtle and dynamically intricate contemporary electro-pop vibe that comes through with a cinematic undertone and a lot of character.
"Reaper" is a nearly perfectly woven single that has a way of wrapping itself around you and letting you kind of get washed away with the textures that build this soundscape.
There is so much catchiness in that chorus and so much emotion behind the vocal performance and delivery that it's something you can't really turn away from.
You still get these hooks that bounce around in your brain for a while after the song has ended and that in itself shows such an intuitive style of songwriting but on top of that, you have this almost vast undertone that sticks throughout the song's course.
So, this track has a very unique atmosphere to it because it's got this alive and breathing style about it but it also has a little bit of color and a little bit of edginess and all of this is balanced so well.
What's more is the music video that comes along with the single itself because that also showcases how things are put together and gives you an idea of the visual to go along with the music and when you listen to the song this way, you're able to feel more of the presence of the band as well as being able to soak in the song in a slightly different manner.
This track has a beautiful way of engulfing you and it feels good to let that happen because that's what music like this is for.
It's meant to take you over for a little bit so that you forget about your own reality and step into someone else's and that level of escapism in song is not something you come along often so when it does it's super refreshing.
