Nattie Jean Drops A Breakup Anthem

12459-jkjkjkjiu-17782471113176.jpg

A new single from Nattie Jean just released, and this is a song that definitely shines in terms of putting out a very robust form of honesty, without holding back, and while hinting towards a little bit of vulnerability, but at the same time giving off a semi-carefree sort of attitude.

This is a song about a breakup, and the other person moving on with someone else. Meanwhile, you know that the person they are with now is nowhere near a good fit for them, and you don't feel bad about it. It's kind of like, they got what they deserved.

"I Don't Feel Bad" comes from such a great place because I feel like a lot of us have been there before.

When you're with someone for a little while, you really get to understand them more. Then, they break up with you and get with someone else that's completely wrong for them, and you just sort of laugh about it.

You definitely don't feel bad for them, that's for sure.

The perspective and the way she articulates the lyrics is attitude-riddled, super fun, it's got a big character attached to it, and it's completely invigorating.

The performances across the board, are stellar. This is a single that hits a rock backbone, but with a pop overtone. So, it's kind of like a pop-rock single, but it's a little edgy in terms of the guitar tone and the drive of the entire thing, while the vocals put forth that boisterous attitude and massive performance, as she belts out the words, which feels like it was cathartic for her.

Don't we all wish we could write a song about a situation like this, even if it's just so the other person can hear it.

However, this is a song that's for her. Yes, we can all relate to this, so it's very connective in terms of the sentiment, but it does feel like she needed to get this off of her chest.

Her melodies and approach vocally sometimes have a little bit of a southern undertone, which makes the song feel almost like an Americana or even country rock kind of single, but it definitely leans more towards the rock side of things.

The chorus is kind of anthemic, and by the end of it, you're singing along with your hands in the air.

Because of the sentiment behind the song and how it's obviously about someone in particular, it's got a sense of empowerment to it.

In that way, it's a bit spirited.

It definitely has a bit of a wild energy to it that is incredibly infectious, and she definitely doesn't leave much to the imagination.

She puts the whole story out there, letting a lot of those inner thoughts come out for everyone to pick up on, and it's totally unafraid from start to finish.

As she said, she doesn't feel bad.

This single has a lot of pop sensibility, and the hook is immense. It just bounces around in your head for hours after the song has ended.

The drums are totally driving and give that electric energy a real boost, and the guitars are sonically huge. They come through in layers, and there are a couple of guitar tracks that sort of feed into each other, giving the whole thing a slightly heavier rock backing.

One of my favorite parts about this track is the bridge. The bridge is just such a cool part because it's got a delay-effect guitar section with synthesizers that are sort of vast and spacious.

This was really fun because it added a different tone to the track and broke it up perfectly.

Nattie Jean has a very particular kind of intensity to her vocal approach, where it feels almost like you're there in the moment with the song itself. She gives the air of a live performance, and the rest of the band sort of follows suit.

In a way, this is like a breakup anthem, even though it goes past the breakup itself into what ensues afterwards.

"I Don't Feel Bad" is a powerhouse of a single, showcasing the artist's ability to push boundaries and speak her mind without walls built around it, along with giving you edginess, attitude, and that pop overcoat that makes everything shine.

She also has a wonderful presence as an artist, which is shown a lot throughout this track.

If you're not familiar with her music up until now, then this is a great track to introduce you to, but I do suggest going back through some of the songs on her Spotify because there are some amazing tracks released last year, such as "You And I", that give you a little bit of a different side to her personality and artistry.

So definitely don't miss any of this stuff.
