A New Single From Pearl Poet
A new single release from Pearl Poet brings out a bright and vibrant electro pop soundscape that has a wonderful way of blending a vintage and fresh tonality together so you get the best of both worlds while also grabbing onto this ambient underbelly and a certain kind of vastness that the track boasts.
"At the End Of the World" is a refreshing and colorful track that has a neon vivaciousness to it and comes through with electric energy and surprising changes that also have a unique way of beckoning '80s pop sounds and progressions at times but still with this indie and dream pop approach.
What reaches out and grabs you about this track or the vocals because they're so bright and right up in your face just giving off lush melodies that add a layer of texture to the song that has a way of satiating your palate musically.
I think that's where the balance lies. It's a dynamic balance and combination of textures that are old-school and new-school melting and mending together creating an atmosphere that you get engulfed in and it's still upbeat and incredibly danceable.
I think this is one of the best examples of something that feels like some kind of beach sunset in the late 1980s and this ends up becoming an aesthetic that the song brings on.
It's warm and welcoming but there's also an underlying existential layer to it all while you still want to get up and dance around the living room when you hear this track.
For me, this was a little bit nostalgic and I welcome that because it's something that welcomes me, so, that aesthetic and that feel was completely nailed and it's a certain level of postmodernism musically that truly takes someone who knows what they're doing to execute properly.
That combination of vocals that just swim around in the air that surrounds you and the dance and synth-pop musical soundscape make something special and memorable.
There's also an endlessly fun hint of edginess in its under tongue but feels great to listen to especially first thing in the morning because it will set the tone for your day if you do that.
Pearl Poet is a Florida-based electronic and dance pop duo that has a handle on what they want the music to sound like so the way they bring these to fruition takes a lot of attention to detail but never loses the heart or personality it started with in the first place.
Maybe that's where that beachy sunset vibe and color comes from in their music.
They are after all based out of the sunshine state and I'm sure that affects the songwriting for a duo like this one.
This was a refreshing pop single that blended tons of subgenres together seamlessly and came through with an atmosphere that was all their own.
Take a listen to this track with headphones on because it's one of the best ways to do it if you ask me.
There's a lot to soak in musically and energy-wise as well.
