An Honest New Single from The Breathing Method
A new single release from The Breathing Method delivers a very robust brand of honesty in the form of an acoustic rock single that gives the air of a 90s underground alternative rock track that you would hear on the radio at the time and that is static is completely nailed from beginning to end.
"Demons" has a very particular way of depicting inner struggles and thoughts that some or many of us have from time to time or a lot of the time even.
The way everything is expressed lyrically is intense and lets you soak it in in a completely relatable and understandable way.
One of the reasons that I love a song like this is because the singer is giving pieces of himself and that's not an easy thing to do so when you listen to this track you can't help but feel like it may have been cathartic for him to write and release but, for the listener, you totally get it and for some people hearing this song may help because they may not feel like they're alone in whatever struggle they're having.
Songs like this are hard to put out into the world because they're written with fewer boundaries than the norm and with fewer walls built around it so being able to come forth with that much honesty is immense at times.
These guys really did an amazing job of hitting that alternative rock feel and vibe to the point where for me, it was a bit nostalgic to listen to just because it was all done perfectly from the guitar tone to the way the vocals are delivered with this intense and emotionally driven approach, it made me feel right at home.
Although this track is an acoustic one, it is a rock track and it's one of those songs that make you think of bands like Stone Temple Pilots for example because it's got this heavy rock backbone that lurks just beneath the surface and although it's clean and acoustic, it still has that edginess right in your face and that's an amazing thing to capture.
One of my favorite aspects about this release is the energy because it is absolutely electric to the point where you feel like it may have been recorded live-on-the-floor to some extent so that everyone involved is feeding off of each other the whole time giving off this air of a live performance.
This is something you don't come across often and even if I'm wrong about the whole live-on-the-floor recording thing, listening to this song makes you want to go see them live simply because if this kind of energy is captured on record this well then seeing a live would be amazing.
It's a combination of personality, bravery, honesty, and a slew of classic and hard, heavy-rock influences that come together and make this song what it is.
This song certainly speaks volumes for the band their ability to put out a song that has depth and how they're able to harness the emotions that come with that and turn it into a song that people can't really understand.
Songs that make you think and feel are what we need more of in the world and this song hits both of those sweet spots.
The track had a great effect on me so I suggest you listen to this one with headphones on and see how it affects you.
