Some fresh new music from vincethealien blends all kinds of irresistible R&B flows with elements of electronic and pop-coated tendencies, and it all has such heavy-handed, danceable grooves that it's really difficult not to move your body when you hear these tracks.
"Tenderness" is a single that delivers a lot of the almost 90s feeling undertones, mostly due to some of the synth work but also how characteristic his voice is.
I don't really want to say it's theatrical, because it's technically not, but it's just got a lot of animated approaches, so you have that classic allure that you used to hear in certain kinds of hip hop and R&B songs in the 90s or early 2000s.
He blends this with a much more current approach and elements of edginess, and it's undertone, bringing things to a fresh playing field and just doing it his way.
You can hear some amazing keys throughout this track, and these are really what drive the song forward. It's a very flavorful and sort of juicy track, and the keys that are used have a thick sort of tone to them, giving the song a very well-rounded feel, but also brightening up the energy.
The beats are really a key factor in this track as well. The beat has a bit of a classic style to it in terms of it being four on the floor, but they range in intensity, so when it gets to certain sections of the song, they have a bit more drive and push, which the rest of the instrumentation and performances thrive off of.
The song absolutely gives off a fluency. It flows with a natural and forward-moving approach, and you can definitely hear a lot of the classic pop, but also loads of that R&B and soul influences throughout this entire thing.
I think that vocally, it captures a lot of personality by having the performance done with an almost live-performance style of energy.
The vocals breathe with the song. As the energy of the instruments rises and exhales, so does he.
He also does a lot of vocal work, adding extra rhythms in between the beats, and connecting so many words with a unique approach to lyrical phrasing that, at times, is very quick.
I found this super intriguing as well.
He's got some great harmonies going on throughout this one, and again, there's just something almost nostalgic about it to me.
Having said that, again, it does blend electronics into this R&B flow, and with that high level of energy coming through, it's very unique and slightly outside the box, but also very familiar at the same time.
Lyrically, the track is very honest and shares a lot of personal attributes, so you really do feel like he comes from an authentic place.
Another recent single release called "Forgiveness" comes through with a much more soulful, straight R&B overtone, powerful, belting, and boisterous vocal approaches, and this tonal warmth that just captures something special.
She's really letting it rip on this track, and I feel like that intensity comes straight from emotion.
This is obviously an artist who doesn't just put pieces of himself into his music, but also performs those songs with a deep passion, so the vocals come through powerfully and you're impacted by it.
It seems like both of these songs are chapters in the artist's life. They serve as the soundtrack for those chapters, and it seems almost like it may have been cathartic for the artist to write and release.
vicenthealien is the kind of artist who really writes songs with fewer walls built around them. You're able to really connect with them and feel the emotional rises and falls, knowing that all of it is completely genuine.
I feel like that's also important. Music like this is, once again, quite impactful for the listener. Not only are the songs for him, but they are for whoever's listening to them as well.
One of the coolest things that I've seen in a long time is the simple fact that when you listen to these songs on his Spotify account, each one is followed by an explanation of where the song came from.
He just gets in front of the microphone and explains what the song is about to you for a few minutes.
This is such a great move because it really helps you connect with the song even more. When you listen to music, you can take it in different ways. One person may interpret a song differently than another.
So the fact that he explains the song from his perspective after the song itself is finished is something different.
It lets you understand more, dig deeper, and makes it even more fun to go back and listen to the song again after you've listened to the artist's explanation.
