An Honest And Intense Release From Bijou Noir
A new single release from Bijou Noir delivers an edgy and honest alternative pop sound that comes with a lot of posted character and an addictive tonality that has a way of wrapping itself around you and keeping you right where it wants to.
"That's No Life" certainly bears a lot of personal undertone and at times you think to yourself that it might have been very cathartic for the artist himself to record and release this track.
It certainly feels like everything is coming from a very genuine and real place and that this may be the only way that he knew how to actually get things off of his chest that needed to be said out loud.
A lot of us have these kinds of struggles with our inner selves at times or situational ones, but we don't know how to quite articulate it the way artists like this one do.
That's why when we hear it, it becomes so incredibly relatable.
This is what makes it so impactful on the listener's side.
Whoever is hearing this can certainly understand where it's coming from and may not feel alone in their struggle at the time which I think comes through the very impactful and informative approach even if the artist didn't do that on purpose.
The song has a wonderful way of growing and intensity the further in you go and it does indeed come from someplace that had to be dug into in order to come out.
This is a very real track and it was delivered with a lot of passion as the artist wears his heart on his sleeves.
It was very graceful from the music through to the vocals and everything has a wonderful way of sonically complementing each other throughout the track's course.
I love the honesty here and how the artist almost pulls himself apart getting this off his chest.
In a way, this is a song about loss and it feels powerful and comes along with an accompanying music video that shows not only the artist's presence even more but also shows this particular character in a more intense atmosphere.
Somehow the video makes things even more personal and you can feel even closer to the song itself and to the artist himself as well which I think is a wonderful attribute for a music video to portray.
You can clearly tell this is done by someone who has a pure love for his craft and that craft of course is songwriting as a whole.
This was wonderfully woven, there was a lot of attention to detail, but it never loses its message or its soul.
The persona and character is always intact from beginning to end and this may be the most important part of it all.
The song comes through with a cinematic backbone and it's very easy to quickly just become engulfed in the entire soundscape of it all and in the end get washed away by it.
I love a song like this because it serves as almost a little bit of an escape from your own reality for a moment in time. After all, you don't think about anything else than what's going on in the song while it's happening.
Check this track out and I would suggest you do so by way of watching the music video cuz it's one of the best forms of soaking this in properly.
This was an outstanding single from an artist that I'm going to be paying a lot more attention to from here on out.
