Scarlett Cook Releases An Opus of An Album

An album release from Scarlett Cook redefines alternative music by combining elements of classical, grunge, theatrical approaches, and an emotionally driven underbelly that all give this record such a massive character that you simply cannot let go.
The Requiem for the Earth album has lush and edgy textures that can be peeled back throughout its unfolding and as you do so you dig deeper into Scarlett's inner thoughts, definitely plenty of that emotional drive, and her unique and passionate approach to performance.
One of the reasons this record comes through with such a robust and theatrical undertone is because it has a gothic edginess to it that floats over the entire record, and this gives it a sort of theme. Still, she has such a way of taking an excitable and intense energy and making it graceful at the same time.
Being able to take that aggression, sorrow, honesty, and joy, and bring them into a platform that transforms and transcends through the soundscapes is incredible, and the record serves as more of an experience than just an album.
This whole thing brings together such incredible instrumentation from the piano (which is really the base of the entire record, and what most of these songs were probably written on in the first place), but it also includes cellos, keys and organs, live drums, and more so, the entire record has a whole is a lot to soak in and those levels of intensity come in waves.
This is a record that you absolutely must listen to from beginning to end to really gain everything it has to offer because listening to one or two tracks may give you a gist of what's to come but it does not give you the full spectrum of what the full album holds.
This was a beautiful escape into someone else's mind and someone else's world but the songs make complete sense in a lot of different ways and you pick up on that because of how depictive she is with her lyrics.
This is not a one-off type of album. This is an album that's got a lot to say and throughout the record the artist gives pieces of herself with each track so, again, you have these amazing layers that you can feel back and feed into.
By the time the record's over you feel like you've just watched a film, read a good book, or have even sat down to watch a good play. Again, it's a massive escape and when it's over you have to react to meet yourself back to your reality again.
The blending of classical music, baroque, alternative pop, heavy rock, and soul all make for something that leaves a massive impact.
Its entire approach is a bit unique but also feels strangely familiar and almost nostalgic at times because she draws certain kinds of influences from 90s alternative bands as well so those little influences feed into the music and course through the veins of the record.
What really grabs at you is the vocal performance and the entire soundscape of the album. Once it's got a hold of you it wraps itself around you and keeps you right where it wants to.
It is extremely easy to get engulfed by this record because it's got so much character and persona.
This is something I feel like has been missing from all kinds of music in the past let's say, five or six years to say the least.
There is heart and soul behind this record along with the way she expresses herself through aggression and her intense and soulful performances.
This is part of why so much of it is relatable. She doesn't hold back how she's feeling during her performances so you feel like you're right there in the moment.
It's been such a long time since I've heard a record that took me away and let me paint vivid pictures in my head as it was playing. You can feel that emotion in those situations. You can feel that intensity and how much this record means to her.
I think we need a lot more of this kind of stuff. Music that has real talent but also has messages and things to say. A record that comes from authentic places, real-life experiences, and inner thoughts and feelings.
This is what real art is about. Albums like this one. There are much fewer boundaries built around this record than anything I've heard in quite some time.
Take a deep dive into this album as soon as you can and again, please listen to the entire record so that you can really soak everything in. I would actually even suggest listening to this with headphones on so you can pick up on all the layers, notes, lyrics and everything that happens during these songs.
This had a great effect on me so I suggest you listen to it and see how it affects you.
